Tree service questions, answered

These are the questions Yakima homeowners ask Raul and his crew before the first cut. Tap a question to open the answer. If yours isn’t here, call any hour and ask.

You don’t have to be home when we remove a tree. We will need access to the property, all of which can be worked out beforehand.

We usually provide an estimate within 24 hours and many times we can do it that very day.

Yes, we provide the Yakima, Washington area and surrounding regions with seasonal tree care packages that include a complete line of tree care services.

We can cut your tree into firewood or remove it from your property as desired.

This depends on hazardous, sick or emergency job. We are happy to consult with more information.

Before offering a precise and equitable quote, we conduct a thorough assessment of the tree's condition, size, surroundings, as well as your preferences regarding wood disposal and stump grinding. These factors significantly impact the duration and safety of tree removal. Schedule an appointment with us for a complimentary estimate tailored to your tree removal needs.

The timing for pruning your tree depends on various factors such as the tree species, its growth habits, and your pruning objectives. In general, it's best to prune deciduous trees during late winter or early spring when they are dormant. This timing allows for optimal wound healing and reduces the risk of disease transmission. However, some trees may benefit from pruning during other seasons. For flowering trees, pruning immediately after flowering can help maintain their shape and promote future blooms.

About the free wood chips

Big R delivers full loads of chips from local jobs at no cost inside our service area. Requests go on a waiting list, and we let you know when your chips are ready. Two things people ask first:

A load often consists of a combination of woods, most commonly pine, fir, elm, cottonwood, honey locust, birch tree, willow and others. We don't offer delivery of specific woods.

It is important to remember that these are FREE wood chips from a local tree removal or trimming, and thus these are not the same quality as wood chips you would pay for. They will likely contain leaves and small twigs/branches from final clean up of the jobsite that are too small to safely be processed by the wood chippers.
