Stump removal in Yakima, ground below the surface
Let Big R handle the stumps, so you can enjoy your beautiful yard. Free consultation and a transparent quote first.
Chapter 01
A stump is more than an eyesore
A stump left in the lawn costs you in four ways. It is a tripping hazard, especially for kids and older folks who do not see it in the grass. It takes up the space you wanted for a garden bed or a new planting. As it decays it draws insects and other critters. And depending on the tree, some stumps keep sending up new shoots for years.
The old stump is also usually the last thing left from a tree that came down months or years ago. Hailey Dorais and her husband cut a tree down themselves and were left with a pile of limbs and several large stumps. They called Big R, and the crew was out two days after the agreement was signed.

How the grinder goes in
It starts with a free consultation. Raul looks at the stump, the roots and what is around it, then gives you a transparent quote before any work begins. No surprise number at the end.
Safety comes first, with proper equipment and standard industry practice. Then the grinder takes the stump down below the surface, which removes it completely and stops it from regrowing. The grinding methods are chosen to keep damage to the surrounding landscape to a minimum, so the beds, the lawn and the fence stay as they were.
Quantity is not a problem. Thomas Reed wrote: “We had 17 arborvitae stumps that needed to be ground down. Raul was responsive, did an excellent job with professional equipment, and at a price much lower than several other bides I got.”
Chapter 03
What the yard looks like after the grind
Cleanup is part of the job. Big R leaves the property debris-free and ready for you to use, whether that means sod, a garden bed or just a clear lawn. Jennifer Elling had trees pruned, junipers removed and stumps ground, and wrote: “They also did stump grinds. Cleaned everything up. Looked like they were never there and the trees look great!”
Speed is part of it too. Marie L had a stump that the company which removed the tree never came back to deal with. She called Raul, hired him, and wrote: “he was out the next morning and on time. He had the stump out and clean up in less than 3 hours”.
Stump grinding pairs naturally with tree removal. If the tree is still standing, ask Raul about taking it down and grinding the stump as one job, so you end up with one clean yard.
